We are often told as kids to aim for the stars to get a good life, try to be a doctor or an investment banker, or the President of the United States, well in the UK it turns out they have added another job title to that list, dog walker.
Recently released research has revealed that UK dog walkers earn more than the average UK salary. Pet insurer Direct Line spoke with 150 different dog walkers across the country to compare their average hourly rate vs the national minimum wage and found that walkers charged on average 77% more than the minimum wage rate.
On average a dog walker will walk around 13 dogs per day and walk the equivalent of 192 dog walks per month. This equates to an average annual income for the dog walker of £26,496, which is £4,450 above the UK’s average annual salary.
So it turns out that the thing you done in your free-time that was sort of a hobby, could actually be the thing that keeps you fed, clothed and roof over your head, who knew? Just one more reason to love dogs even more!
