After a marathon 8 hour effort a tiny newborn puppy was saved from a drain she was trapped in. The cute little thing was given oxygen by rescuers and given a second chance at life.
The rescuers spent more than eight hours trying to get to the poorly dog whose two dead siblings were found by cops during a drugs raid on a house. She managed to get herself stuck in the sewage pipe, and although she was moving and alert she was very dehydrated and hungry.
A spokesman for the rescue team said: “Our team arrived on scene at 1pm and the pup was rescued at 10.30pm.
“It was an amazing group effort of various agencies, including a fantastic plumbing company, who would not give up.
“Our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians respond to more than 10,000 calls for rescue and animal investigations each year and operate 365 days per year,
“Yet in my five years here, I think this has to be the longest, non-stop rescue effort!
“You could see the relief and emotion on our rescuers faces when the pup was rescued alive.”
