If your dog or puppy suffers from car sickness, you will find that the distance you can travel him in the car is extremely limited. This makes it hard to take your pup on fun family holidays or even just a day out, without the fear of your pet making a mess in the car. Well here are 3 causes/tips to combat it.

Feeding time.

Dogs are like humans as far as motion sickness and/or car sickness goes. Some dogs, like some humans prefer to travel with a full stomach while others are the opposite. If you always feed your dog before a journey and he is constantly sick, try switching it up and vise-versa.

Natural remedies

Again just like humans natural remedies can help nausea and upset stomachs. The most common is ginger root.  When feeding your dog ginger you best bet is to grate a little fresh ginger into your dog’s food.
Stress

Often your dog’s upset stomach can be down to a high amount of stress and anxiety. This can be due to a fear of driving or other irrational fears. The best thing to do is locate and pin-point the cause of the anxiety and do all you can to eradicate it.
Always remember that regular trips to the vet will help your dog more than anything else if car sickness continues.
