Feeding dogs on a raw food diet has become very popular in recent years. A raw food diet basically consists of uncooked meat, vegetables and fruits. Many dog owners have seen a positive difference after undergoing this diet, and if you want to go that route, here are some tips and info than can help.

Commercially produced dog foods are filled with fats and preservatives which can be harmful to some dogs. The benefits of a raw diet is the natural ingredients and the fact that it can easily be prepared from the comfort of the home, for the same price or cheaper.

If and when you start feeding your dog a raw diet give him meat along with the bone. A common misconception is that the meat has to be expensive, this is not true, the nutrients needed can be attained without over spending.

Another thing you should do alternate it with any of the following: turkey neck or wings, pig feet, chicken wings, etc. Avoid meats containing small pieces of bones that your dog could easily choke on and avoid cooked fat which can cause pancreatic defects in dogs.

Meat is a breakfast option to give your pup energy but in the evenings add a mixture of vegetables, meat and fruits. To ensure that your dog eats all the vegetables, you should puree the mixture in a food processor and then mix them to form ground beef.

The raw dog food diet is a good option and following the above guide makes the road to a healthy dog, easy and simple.
