We all enjoyed Summer, the sun, sea and sand, the trips to the coast and ALL the ice cream in the world, but with Autumn already here and Winter approaching fast, we must remember (sadly) that summer is over.

More importantly we must also remember to also prepare our dogs for the sudden shift in climate, here are 3 of the easiest and most important tips to follow.

. Grooming

This is the best place to start, and in some ways the easiest foot forward. The  colder seasons can be tough for if they aren’t groomed properly. Things like daily brushing are essential as they release natural oils that form a coating on your dogs skin, which keeps your dog protected.

. Feed Them Well

Obviously don’t over do this, but a slightly more packed diet is need when the weather changes. This is because when it’s cold outside, your pet’s body needs more energy. This is where the fat is very useful as fat turns to energy to keep them warm.

Exercise

This may sound a bit like punishment; get them fattened up then make them exercise, but actually exercise is crucial during the colder months. Since it gets darker quicker, don’t feel limited by this, a great thing to do is give your pet exercise indoors, it keeps them entertained, healthy and most importantly warm!
